TIC-The Industrial Company was the general contractor for the 43.5 megawatt Twin Falls hydroelectric power plant and new intake structure with penstock.
Technical Details:
- Intake structure: Construction of a new concrete intake structure consisting of 2,535 cubic yards of concrete and requiring the installation of temporary bulkhead at the upstream face of a concrete dam.
- Power house: In order to construct the powerhouse, a 30-foot-high by 150-foot-long cofferdam, requiring an 11-foot diameter diversion pipe, was installed. The powerhouse was 100 feet tall with 60 feet of the structure below the Snake River.
- The project required the installation of 16,000 cubic yards of concrete, 1,975,000 pounds of rebar, 4,000 linear feet of pipe, 375 feet of 17-foot diameter penstock and 90,000 linear feet of wire and cable.
